Lou Baldwin Receives Beacon Award

The Bethesda Center for the Homeless presented Lou Baldwin with its first “Beacon Award”. The award was presented for “helping Bethesda carry out its mission to move homeless men and women from streets to housing.” Lou has been very active in the effort to eliminate chronic homelessness. He was appointed by Mayor Joines in 2006 to a Blue Ribbon panel which wrote the “Ten Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness.”

Winston-Salem and Forsyth County then established a Ten Year Plan Commission and the Mayor appointed Lou as Commissioner. Baldwin states “we are fortunate at Baldwin Properties to be able to play a key role in our community’s efforts to house the homeless. I greatly appreciate receiving this honor and want to thank the Property Managers and Customer Services Representatives at our company, and also the great Case Workers from the Bethesda Center for their daily efforts that make this coalition work.”
